About The Position

The purpose of this position is to provide primary support to the Regulatory Operations Administrator in the preparation of regulatory packages, periodic reviews, and required supporting documentation for the Board for Contractors, Board for Waste Management Facility Operators, the Water Works and Wastewater Works Operators and Onsite Sewage System Professionals Board, the Asbestos, Lead, and Home Inspectors Board, and the Polygraph Advisory Board. This position serves in a "lead" capacity, working closely with the section's Compliance Analyst in processing compliance-related applications and preparing correspondence related to non-compliance. This position will also be responsible for conducting research as needed for the development of regulatory actions for the section's five assigned boards. This position is not a full-time telework position. Upon hire into this position, the agency requires the incumbent to be in the position for 90 days before a specific telework schedule may be submitted for consideration.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of statutes and regulations for boards and professional regulation.
  • Knowledge of regulatory drafting as well as the legislative process.
  • Ability to coordinate promulgation of multiple sets of regulations in compliance with Virginia law.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and research policy and economic issues.
  • Ability to coordinate, organize, and implement multiple projects.
  • Effective oral and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and to track multiple projects.
  • Ability to become proficient with automated systems used to support the rulemaking process in state government.
