About The Position

The Regulatory Affairs Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring our products meet USDA and other regulatory requirements, while also supporting product innovation and business growth. This position partners closely with teams across the organization to interpret regulations, assess risk, and ensure that labeling, manufacturing, and product decisions are compliant, accurate, and market‑ready. Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of USDA regulations and food labeling requirements
  • Ability to interpret regulatory language and apply it to real‑world business decisions
  • High attention to detail with strong organization and project management skills
  • Comfort working in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment with multiple priorities
  • Strong communicator who can engage effectively with internal teams and external agencies
  • Ability to influence and drive compliance outcomes through partnership
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, or related field is a plus)
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant regulatory experience will be considered
  • Minimum 5 years of regulatory affairs experience in the food processing industry
  • Hands‑on experience with food labeling, ingredient compliance, and regulatory interpretation

Nice To Haves

  • Poultry or meat industry experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure regulatory compliance with USDA and other applicable regulations by monitoring changes, interpreting requirements, and recommending clear implementation strategies
  • Stay ahead of regulatory changes and proactively communicate impacts and requirements to internal stakeholders in a timely, easy‑to‑understand way
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Product Development, Quality, Operations, Sales, and other teams to build and maintain effective compliance systems and controls
  • Support new product development, including reviewing formulations, ingredients, packaging, and responding to internal and customer regulatory inquiries
  • Review and approve product labeling, including Nutrition Facts, ingredient statements, allergen declarations, and net weights
  • Manage Child Nutrition Labeling (CNL) submissions and approvals to ensure compliance with program requirements
  • Maintain accurate labeling and product data within Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems
  • Support export regulatory requirements for products sold outside the U.S., as needed
  • Train and support internal teams on regulatory processes, expectations, and best practices
