Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in food science, nutrition or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant Regulatory experience Domestically and/or Internationally (Canada, Mexico, EU, etc.) in the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) industry
  • Experience in US and/or international labeling, ingredient/ formula compliance, registrations
  • Demonstrated experience in building processes and identifying and resolving regulatory issues quickly and effectively
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks
  • Strong command of the details of relevant regulations and the ability to make regulatory matters understandable and actionable for stakeholders
  • Results oriented with an ability to work on multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated risk assessment and problem-solving skills with the ability to implement effective solutions
  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills who demonstrates good judgment, initiative, and a sense of urgency.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and regulatory direction and guidance to ensure all packaging, website content and sales materials are accurate and compliant with applicable global laws and regulations.
  • Provide input on formula development to meet regulatory & claim requirements for different global markets.
  • Review and approve product labels to ensure accurate and complete information, including translations, claim review, ingredient declarations, allergen statements, nutrition facts etc. for global markets.
  • Ensure the internal regulatory department database for new & existing products is kept up to date with all substantiation documents pertaining to labeling, artwork, product claims and regulatory research.
  • Assist Director of Regulatory with the development and implementation of policies, procedures, work instructions and forms related to Regulatory Affairs to ensure standardization and consistency.
  • Keep abreast of internal and external changes, trends, developments and other dynamic relevant to the global regulatory environment that may have an impact on the company products.
  • Assist Regulatory Specialist with registration efforts for various regions including Canada, Mexico, Middle East, EU, UK, APC, AUS.
  • Maintain centralized document management system for Regulatory Affairs. Ensure all documents are available and accurate for auditing purposes.
  • Support the preparation, review, and organization of regulatory submission documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Act as the regulatory lead in change control reviews for plant processes, procedures, and label modifications to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Lead the assessment of ingredients to establish their suitability for use in PNC products sold in the global export markets.
  • Review label verification audit results and identify the severity of audit findings or the risk associated with the findings to ensure the appropriate level of action is taken to eliminate non-compliance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and implement process and system improvements.
  • Keep current with developing laws, regulations, and enforcement activities impacting the use of ingredients, product safety, labeling, and advertising to provide effective regulatory assessment and impact of proposed changes to the business.
  • Provide guidance and strategic support to Regulatory team members.
  • Prepare and present training sessions to relevant stakeholders on regulatory matters.
  • Create & manage regulatory resources and knowledge tools.
