About The Position

This internship provides high-impact support to the Regulatory Affairs team by analyzing, monitoring, and synthesizing legislative activity, regulatory filings, and media coverage related to Eversource or the broader energy sector. The intern will also manage and optimize the regulatory affairs electronic file system and database to ensure timely and accessible regulatory records. This role is for a student intern working towards a Bachelor's degree and is a fixed-term trainee position.

Requirements

  • Working toward a Bachelor's degree.
  • Interest in energy policy, state government, regulatory development.
  • Strong technical skills with proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, monitor, and synthesize legislative activity, regulatory filings, and media coverage related to Eversource or the broader energy sector.
  • Manage and optimize the regulatory affairs electronic file system and database.
  • Monitor and report on industry trends, regulatory activities, and energy stakeholder activities that may influence regulatory proceedings.
  • Research, analyze, and report on emerging themes among energy stakeholders.
  • Perform various functions to assist with managing large volumes of data and information.
  • Manage various regulatory tracking systems/databases to maintain organization of information pertaining to all regulatory dockets.
  • Assist with Regulatory Affairs activities including tracking various compliance requirements/timelines.
  • Respond to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs as part of every employee’s role, which may include an Emergency Restoration assignment outside of normal responsibilities, work hours, and location.

Benefits

  • Pay rates are hourly and based on year of graduation and if the role is technical or non-technical. Technical rates start at $18.12 freshman and up to $22.73 for a senior.
