About The Position

This is a 1.0 Regular Substitute Social Studies Teacher position at Casey Middle School, effective from September 1, 2026, to January 29, 2027. The role requires a valid New York State teaching certificate in Social Studies 7-12 and successful classroom experience. The teacher will be responsible for motivating and instructing students, developing problem-solving skills, and creating a flexible, student-centered classroom. Collaboration with peers, supervisors, special education teachers, and parents is essential. The position also involves planning lessons for Regents level courses, effective classroom management, and incorporating technology. Modifications for special education students and advanced learners are expected, along with a commitment to continuous professional reflection and growth. Experience or knowledge of working with at-risk students is also a requirement.
