About The Position

The study of ethical values and deontological rules of journalism. Resolution of moral dilemmas compatible with the responsible freedom of the press. Elements of jurisprudence from courts and media self-regulation mechanisms (press councils, ombudsmen, etc.). This course will be offered in person.

Requirements

  • Doctorate or Master's degree with professional experience in communication or a related discipline.
  • Satisfactory teaching evaluations.
  • Successful completion of all mandatory legislated training.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialization or teaching experience in the field is recommended.
  • A Bachelor's degree with relevant professional experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the course Éthique et déontologie du journalisme (CMN3552-A00) during the 2027 Winter Semester.
  • Resolve moral dilemmas compatible with the responsible freedom of the press.
  • Incorporate elements of jurisprudence from courts and media self-regulation mechanisms (press councils, ombudsmen, etc.).
  • Deliver the course in person.
  • Adhere to the current APTPUO collective agreements.
  • Complete all mandatory legislated training.
