Emory Healthcare (EHC), part of Emory University (EUV), is the most comprehensive academic health system in Georgia. This role involves performing radiation treatment and simulation procedures under the supervision of the Chief Radiation Therapist, as directed by the Radiation Oncologist. The position requires thorough documentation, preparation and administration of contrast, and performing POCT testing. The Radiation Therapist will prepare the treatment room and equipment, explain procedures to patients, and ensure patient comfort and safety during treatments. They will also be responsible for acquiring and analyzing radiographs, operating CT simulation units and supporting equipment, and potentially assisting in special procedures. Collaboration with the patient's care team, scheduling patients, and reporting changes in patient condition are key aspects of this role. Additionally, the therapist will assist with training new staff and students, maintain facilities and equipment, and participate in educational activities. Accurate charge recording, on-call duties, and continuous competency demonstration are expected. Compliance with medical center and regulatory agency standards, including patient safety, QA processes, and treatment protocol adherence, is mandatory. The role involves providing patient care appropriate to all age groups served.
