About The Position

Provides clinically based concurrent and retrospective review of inpatient medical records to evaluate documentation of patient acuity and support acute care services delivered. Concurrent review aims to facilitate appropriate physician documentation of care delivery so that records accurately reflect patient severity of illness and risk of mortality. Reviews are determined internally and may also be required or requested by external payers or regulatory agencies. They contribute to reporting quality-of-care outcomes and obtaining accurate, compliant documentation for billing services rendered.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing or a United States or International School of Medicine.
For RN candidates, an active license is required. Nurses in roles requiring an unencumbered nursing license must have a valid, active license or a temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
Education and experience may be considered in lieu of an RN license for highly qualified physician candidates.
Three years of experience in a healthcare-related field with strong clinical expertise and acumen.

Nice To Haves

Recent clinical experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
Critical Care, Medical/Surgical, or Emergency Department nursing experience is preferred; alternatively, two years of experience in a specialty area.
