About The Position

South Florida Ambulatory Surgery Center is hiring a Registration Representative, Full Time. South Florida Ambulatory Surgery Center needed for busy, multispecialty ASC in Miami, FL. The Front Desk Clerk interfaces with patients and families, physicians and staff; Admit patients and process their paperwork; Update patient demographics/information in the system; Answer incoming phone calls. Greet patients, check in patients, Filing, answering phones, provides back up support for business office Summary: Schedules procedures, registers patients, calculates charges, verifies insurance, and collects deposits as necessary. Prepares appropriate documents and assist business office duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must have the skills necessary to operate office equipment that are required to fulfill job duties.
  • Good communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical Office Experience Preferred.
  • Chart preparation experience preferred.
  • Medical terminology and computer experience beneficial
  • Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Answers telephone and either responds to inquiry, directs caller to appropriate personnel.
  • Schedules patients using Advantx with a high rate of accuracy.
  • Provides exemplary customer service; treats patients and coworkers with courtesy and discretion.
  • Greets and directs patients, sales people and visitors.
  • Registers patients by verifying that patient’s record is up to date and accurate.
  • Makes appropriate changes in computer system and on patient’s chart.
  • Complies with federal and local laws in ensuring patient privacy.
  • Collects payment from patients, applies payments and adjustments to patient accounts in the computer system.
  • Reviews medical records for completeness, assembles records into standard order, and files records in designated areas according to filing systems.
