This role is responsible for admitting all patients in a timely manner, ensuring all necessary documentation, signatures, insurance verification, and authorization are obtained. It also involves requesting deductibles or co-pays, ensuring correct patient identification via wristbands, providing advance directives, and addressing patient questions and concerns. The position may also serve as a backup for the phone operator and assist with in-patient admissions, including OB.

Responsibilities

  • Admit all patients in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensure all current information has been documented, signatures received, insurance has been verified, authorizations received and the deductibles or co-pays have been requested in a compliant manner
  • Ensure the wrist bands are put on the proper patients, advance directives given to each patient and patients receive the answer to any questions or concerns they may have
  • Serve as back up for the phone operator as needed
  • Assist with in-patient patient admissions, including OB, as needed
