About The Position

The Registrar & Recruitment Specialist plays a key role in building the adult learner pipeline, providing high-quality support to prospective students, and ensuring accurate and compliant enrollment documentation. The position combines student recruitment, outreach, data management, community engagement, and administrative responsibilities. The role may be assigned to either campus based on organizational need and may rotate between Ward 5 and Ward 8 during employment. This position requires strong communication skills, cultural humility, excellent organization, and the ability to support adult learners with a wide range of needs and backgrounds.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in admissions, enrollment, advising, sales, customer service, or other transferable experience.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort making high-volume phone calls.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including multilingual learners, returning citizens, and learners with limited literacy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite; CRM experience (Salesforce) preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to work at least two evenings per week; occasional weekend availability is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement targeted recruitment strategies to engage prospective adult learners across Washington, D.C.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for prospective learners, including answering calls, greeting walk-ins, and responding to inquiries.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute recruitment events such as Open Houses, Information Sessions, workshops, and community engagement activities.
  • Coordinate and support volunteers and Territory Representatives assigned to designated D.C. wards.
  • Provide training, tools, and ongoing communication to ensure strong representation and outreach performance.
  • Guide prospective learners through the application, intake, and documentation process.
  • Assist learners who may have literacy, language, speech, or technology barriers in completing enrollment requirements.
  • Monitor application completion and follow up with prospective learners to support movement through the enrollment funnel.
  • Monitor and report on application completion rates, conversion data, and enrollment trends.
  • Input and maintain accurate and timely data in Salesforce and other databases.
  • Conduct enrollment file reviews to ensure compliance with OSSE requirements, internal policies, and term audit expectations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, workforce partners, agencies, and local stakeholders.
  • Represent AoH at community events, resource fairs, and recruitment partnerships.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Admissions team.
  • Assist with verification of enrollment documentation, enrollment tracker updates, and learner communications.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping for enrollment, verification, and reporting.
