About The Position

Independence Veterinary Clinic is hiring a Registered Veterinary Technician to provide skilled patient care and exceptional service to clients. The role supports veterinarians with exams, surgery, anesthesia, recovery, and technical procedures while communicating with clients and maintaining accurate medical records. The clinic focuses on personalized, compassionate care and high-quality medical, surgical, and preventative services in a welcoming environment. It emphasizes client education, trust, strong relationships with pet owners, and the well-being of each animal. The clinic is committed to an inclusive culture that celebrates diversity. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with a four-day workweek and no weekend hours. Compensation is $23–$26 per hour, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications. A $500 sign-on bonus is offered.

Requirements

Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification is required.
Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and patient status updates.
Perform technical duties including laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
