About The Position

Animal Clinic Northview is a full-service veterinary and emergency hospital in the greater Cleveland area known for delivering exceptional, comprehensive, and compassionate care to patients and their families. Founded in 1977, our 34-doctor, 175-staff, AAHA-accredited hospital has built a long-standing reputation for excellence in advanced diagnostics, surgery, internal medicine, emergency/critical care, and client service. Our 36,000 sq. ft. facility includes state-of-the-art diagnostic technology – digital radiography, digital ultrasonography, a CT scanner capable of full 3-D reconstruction, endoscopy, laparoscopy, a complete surgical suite, an in-house laboratory and pharmacy, a full rehabilitation center with underwater treadmill and therapy pool, and a 24-hour ICU. We are seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team and play a key role in delivering high-quality medical and surgical care in collaboration with our veterinarians, RVT staff, and support team.

Requirements

  • Active RVT certification or equivalent license as required by Ohio/state law
  • Graduation from an accredited veterinary-technician program (or equivalent) and relevant clinical experience preferred, though new grads with strong interest and drive are welcome to apply
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary medical terminology, procedures, and compassionate patient handling
  • Ability to perform under pressure, multitask, and handle a physically and emotionally demanding clinical environment (including emergencies) with care and professionalism
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – able to interact with veterinarians, team members, and clients respectfully and clearly

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, treatments, and surgeries – preparing patients, monitoring anesthesia, supporting surgical and post-operative care.
  • Perform sample collection (blood, urine, tissue, etc.), run in-house diagnostics and lab tests, manage laboratory workflows.
  • Monitor hospitalized patients, administer medications, fluids, and supportive care, and provide nursing care as needed.
  • Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment; prepare and clean surgical suites; ensure a safe, organized, and clean clinical environment.
  • Communicate effectively with clients – providing education on post-operative care, preventive medicine, diagnostics, and follow-up recommendations.
  • Assist with anesthesia monitoring, radiology (or imaging support), and other diagnostics under veterinarian supervision.
