Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with the OAVT, or eligible for registration
  • Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary nursing practices
  • Experience performing diagnostic laboratory procedures in a veterinary setting
  • Excellent communication and client education skills
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • A positive attitude and commitment to exceptional patient care

Responsibilities

  • Assisting veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures
  • Monitoring anesthesia and patient vital signs to ensure safe surgical outcomes
  • Collecting and processing laboratory samples, including blood work, urinalysis, fecal testing, and other diagnostics
  • Administering medications, vaccines, and treatments with accuracy and compassion
  • Providing hands-on nursing care, patient monitoring, and recovery support
  • Educating pet owners on preventive healthcare, treatment plans, medication administration, and post-operative care
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed medical records
  • Supporting client service and reception activities as needed
  • Collaborating with a team that is committed to outstanding patient care and client experience
