About The Position

Gateway Animal Hospital offers preventive care, wellness exams, internal medicine, pet surgery, radiology consults, and dental surgery. The practice is expanding to include home visits and farm calls, aiming to provide compassionate pet care everywhere. North Gateway Animal Hospital emphasizes top-tier services for both pets and people, operating two thriving sites in West Virginia. It is a General Practice/Small Animal clinic with some large animal services, supported by 3 DVMs and dedicated staff. Services include Wellness and Prevention, Advanced Diagnostics, Dental Care, Surgery, Laser Therapy, Boarding, and Ultrasound. The role offers opportunities for career growth through virtual and hands-on training and continuing development.

Requirements

  • A registered veterinary technician
  • A high work ethic and positive attitude team member
  • Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work
  • Some Saturday morning availability
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely
  • Interpret medical records and record client history accurately
  • Knowledge in preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow
  • Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner
  • Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin
  • Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests
  • Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs
  • Proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring
  • A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset
  • Ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency

Responsibilities

  • Animal restraint
  • Triage of incoming patients
