Family Pet Hospital is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join their team in Vacaville, California. The ideal candidate will be a dependable, detail-oriented team player who loves pets and is part of a fun, supportive team. The role involves rooming patients, surgical assisting, drawing blood, running bloodwork, knowledge of x-rays and proper positioning, animal handling and restraint, client education, and being a positive team member. Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Technician
  • 1+ years of veterinary experience (preferred)
  • Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
  • Passion for working with animals and their owners
  • Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
  • Excellent client communication/education

Responsibilities

  • Rooming patients
  • Surgical assisting

  • Obtaining accurate and thorough medical histories
  • Assisting doctor and other technical staff with restraint
  • Blood draws (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
  • Placing IV catheters
  • Digital radiology including positioning
  • Dentistry (digital x-rays, scaling, polishing)
  • Anesthesia (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique)
  • Laboratory skills such as ear and fecal cytology; HM5; Vetscan; Sedivue
