Registered Veterinary Technician
About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team! In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality care to our animal patients while supporting our veterinarians and clients. Our hospital is committed to offering our patients the latest in veterinary medicine, equipment, and technology. We have a state-of-the-art facility with a complete in-house laboratory, 2 digital radiology units, modern surgical suite with the ability to perform complex and orthopedic procedures, a class IV therapy laser and more! Our hours of operation are: Mon – Fri: 7:30 am - 5:30 pm, Saturday: 8:00 am - 12:00 pm, Sunday: Closed.
Requirements
- A Registered Veterinary Technician with an active license required
- Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts
- Availability to work weekends
- Excellent client communication and medical record management skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations
- Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques
- Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
- Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture, with additional skills in dental radiography being a plus
- Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring
- Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards
Nice To Haves
- 1+ year professional experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities
- Assist in the triage of incoming patients, assessing their condition and prioritizing care
- Restrain and handle animals safely during examinations and procedures
- Collect and analyze laboratory samples, including blood, urine, and tissue specimens
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, such as X-rays and ultrasounds
- Provide nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
- Administer medications as prescribed by veterinarians
- Communicate treatment plans effectively with pet owners, ensuring they understand care instructions
- Prepare animals and equipment for surgical procedures
- Assist in anesthetic management during surgeries
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure optimal patient care
- Stay updated on the latest veterinary techniques and best practices
