About The Position

Independence Veterinary Clinic is hiring a Registered Veterinary Technician to provide skilled patient care and exceptional client service. The role supports veterinarians with examinations, surgery, anesthesia, recovery, and other technical procedures, while helping clients understand their pets’ care. The clinic provides personalized, compassionate medical, surgical, and preventative services in a welcoming environment, emphasizing client education, trust, and strong relationships with pet owners. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with a four-day workweek and no weekend hours. Compensation is $23–$26 per hour, based on skills, experience, and qualifications, with a $500 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification.
Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and status updates.
Perform technical duties such as laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
Keep examination rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
