About The Position
Crysler Animal Hospital is hiring a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician to provide skilled care to patients and exceptional service to clients. The role supports veterinary care for companion animals and exotic pets, including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, ferrets, and rabbits. The typical schedule is three and a half days per week, with rotating Saturdays. The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Requirements
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification is required.
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
- Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
- Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
- Experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures is sought in the ideal candidate.
Responsibilities
- Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
- Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
- Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and status updates.
- Perform technical duties such as laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
- Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
- Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
- Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
