About The Position

Alta Rancho Pet Hospital is seeking a Part-Time Registered Veterinary Technician to join their team in Rancho Cucamonga, California. The hospital has been serving the community since 1975 and is known for its high-quality care and positive team environment, led by Dr. Kathy Henderson for the past 25 years.

Requirements

• 3 + years of veterinary clinical experience, as a Veterinary Technician
• Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in California, or eligible to transfer/acquire state license within 3 months of hire required
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint for a variety of species
• Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
• Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing care in a hospital or outdoor setting
• Dental procedure experience, including scaling, polishing, radiographs, extractions, suturing
• Skilled in IV Catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, applying casts, bandages and splints
• Anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience including intubation, monitoring, pre-operative and post-operative care
• Laboratory skills including cytology set-up and interpretation
• Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
• All other duties of a Registered Veterinary Technician as allowable by law
