About The Position
The Registered Veterinary Technician is a vital member of the medical team at Livewell Animal Hospital at Emerson Crossing, providing comprehensive patient care such as administering treatments, monitoring anesthesia, and performing laboratory work. The technician also helps guide and support the medical team, promote efficient workflows, and mentor colleagues. As a key point of contact for pet owners, the technician educates clients about treatments, reviews medical records, and answers questions. The role contributes to hospital culture through training, feedback, and maintaining high standards. Responsibilities may vary by hospital and state according to state-specific licensing and credentialing requirements, the Veterinary Practice Act, and the responsible veterinarian, where applicable.
Requirements
- Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program.
- Current state veterinary technician license in good standing.
- Proficiency in technical skills including nursing, surgery, dental care, radiology, and laboratory procedures.
- Calm and efficient approach, particularly in fast-paced or stressful situations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience in the veterinary industry is preferred.
