About The Position
Alta Vista Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join their team. This role focuses on exams and outpatient care, aiming to elevate the quality of medicine, client education, patient advocacy, and overall hospital workflow through clinical expertise. The RVT will play a critical role in identifying patient concerns, supporting efficient case management, educating clients, anticipating veterinarian needs, and ensuring a consistently high standard of care. Requirements
- 2+ years of veterinary technician experience
- Active and good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of Colorado
- Proficiency in client education and communication
- Proficiency in safe, low-stress patient handling and restraint techniques
- Proficiency in accurate medical record documentation
- Proficiency in medication administration
- Strong critical thinking and attention to detail
- Effective teamwork and professional communication skills
- Commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous learning
Nice To Haves
- Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply
Responsibilities
- Supporting efficient exam room and outpatient workflow to ensure exceptional patient and client care
- Maintaining accurate, thorough medical records and treatment documentation
- Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
- Supporting veterinarians during outpatient procedures and treatments while advocating for high-quality patient care
- Building positive relationships with clients through education, communication, and attentive service
