About The Position

Annapolis Cat Practice/Bay Ridge Animal Hospital is hiring a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician to provide skilled patient care and exceptional client service. The ideal candidate has experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures, and is passionate about improving the lives of pets and their owners. The position involves three to four 10-hour shifts on weekdays, with rotating Saturday mornings. The schedule includes two early shifts from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and two late shifts from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with occasional shifts from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Bay Ridge Animal Hospital provides veterinary care for dogs, with support from its sister facility, Annapolis Cat Hospital, which caters to feline patients. Requirements

Hold a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification in Maryland.
Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
Experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures.

Responsibilities

Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and status updates.
Perform technical duties such as laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
