About The Position

The Animal Emergency Clinic of Fraser Valley (AECFV) is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join their Internal Medicine team. This is a full-time, permanent role in a 24/7 Emergency, Specialty & Critical Care hospital that is AAHA Accredited. The RVT will support internal medicine diagnostics, treatments, and ongoing case management, perform advanced patient monitoring, manage multiple concurrent cases in a fast-paced environment, and deliver high-standard nursing care. Collaboration with DVMs, RVTs, and assistants, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to mentorship are key aspects of the role. The hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostics and treatment tools and is partnered with Ethos Veterinary Health, a large network of specialty and emergency hospitals.

Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) or eligible recent graduate preparing for VTNE
  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
  • Strong interest or experience in internal medicine, emergency, or critical care
  • Ability to prioritize and perform in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to collaborative team medicine
  • Commitment to continuing education and maintaining professional registration
  • Compassionate, detail-oriented, and patient-focused approach to care

Responsibilities

  • Support internal medicine diagnostics, treatments, and ongoing case management
  • Perform and assist with advanced patient monitoring and triage assessments
  • Manage multiple concurrent cases in a fast-paced 24/7 environment
  • Deliver compassionate, high-standard nursing care for hospitalized and critical patients
  • Collaborate closely with DVMs, RVTs, and assistants across departments
  • Maintain accurate records and uphold AAHA standards of care
  • Contribute to mentorship and support of students and newer team members
