About The Position

The Registered Vascular Technologist will be responsible for scheduling appointments, preparing patients for procedures to ensure comfort, obtaining brief health histories, and performing vascular procedures according to accepted protocols. This role involves utilizing clinical symptoms and data for preliminary diagnosis and assisting the Vascular Surgeon in diagnosis in a competent and professional manner. Additionally, the technologist will assist with ordering supplies and maintaining equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of a one (1) year training program or equivalent on-the-job training.
  • Graduate from approved school of medical ultrasound technology or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, human anatomy and physiology, and pertinent testing procedures required to perform clinical tests, maintain equipment, chart treatments and tests, etc.
  • RVT Certification required.
  • BLS Certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule appointments
  • Prepare the patient for the procedure, ensuring they are as comfortable as possible
  • Obtain a brief health history
  • Perform vascular procedures following accepted protocol and utilizes the clinical symptoms and data to aid preliminary diagnosis
  • Assist Vascular Surgeon in diagnosis in a competent and professional manner
  • Assist in ordering of supplies and proper maintenance of equipment
