About The Position
The Registered Vascular Technologist Part-Time will be responsible for scheduling appointments, preparing patients for procedures, obtaining health histories, and performing vascular procedures according to protocol. This role also involves assisting the Vascular Surgeon in diagnosis and maintaining equipment and supplies.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of a one (1) year training program or equivalent on-the-job training.
- Graduate from approved school of medical ultrasound technology or equivalent.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, human anatomy and physiology, and pertinent testing procedures required to perform clinical tests, maintain equipment, chart treatments and tests, etc.
- RVT Certification required.
- BLS Certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association.
Responsibilities
- Schedule appointments
- Prepare the patient for the procedure, ensuring they are as comfortable as possible
- Obtain a brief health history
- Perform vascular procedures following accepted protocol and utilizes the clinical symptoms and data to aid preliminary diagnosis
- Assist Vascular Surgeon in diagnosis in a competent and professional manner
- Assist in ordering of supplies and proper maintenance of equipment
