About The Position

Performs a variety of technical procedures utilizing diagnostic ultrasound equipment. This position is ECB status, requiring a minimum number of worked hours per month as needed by the department, with limited benefit offerings. The role involves independent judgment in planning the sequence of operations and making minor decisions in a complex technical or professional field. The technologist works directly with patients, internal/external customers, other healthcare professionals, and staff, frequently interacting with individuals at director level or above. This position is considered safety sensitive under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Use and Patient Protection Act.

Requirements

Completion of an accredited Technical Ultrasound Program.
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) or Radiology Technology (S) (ARRT) and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).
Ability to perform basic ultrasound echo and/or peripheral vascular studies.
Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.

Nice To Haves

6 months related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Accurately performs a variety of technical procedures efficiently utilizing ultrasonic machinery for the diagnosis of disease.
Positions, transfers and immobilizes patients, as necessary to perform diagnostic procedures.
Adjusts machinery and ancillary equipment parameters in accordance with prescribed procedures to obtain diagnostic medical/legal ultrasound images.
Assists in equipment calibration to maintain department standards.
Understands and performs high level probe disinfection.
Schedules exams and maintains department records.
Assists in quality control programs for the maintenance of prescribed standards.
Available for emergency call back.
