Registered Ultrasound Technologist Per Diem
About The Position
The Registered Ultrasound Technologist Per Diem will perform ultrasound procedures following the SPUH ultrasound scanning protocol appropriate to the ages of the patients. This includes preparing the patient for the procedure by ensuring proper clothing, educating the patient and family, and easing fears, especially for pediatric patients. The technologist will assist the Radiologist to obtain a diagnosis and determine when a patient should be held until their physician is contacted with the results. Additionally, they will accurately record a complete technologist 'note' including all pertinent information concerning the exam/procedure.
Requirements
- Graduate from approved school of medical ultrasound technology.
- RDMS required.
- Requires communication skills sufficient for effective communication with patients, physicians and staff.
- BLS Certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association.
Responsibilities
