About The Position
Come join the Cardiovascular Institute (CVI) at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center. This position will be utilized to help cover department needs during normal business hours, weekends, and holidays. Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Graduate of approved School of Ultrasound or equivalent training.
- none
- ARRT registry/ARDMS in one of the following areas: OB/Gyn, Abd or Neurosonography.
- CPR certification required.
- Interpersonal, technical skills and flexibility in assignments.
Nice To Haves
- Vascular ultrasound experience preferred but not required.
- RVT (ARDMS) or RVS (CCI) in Vascular Sonography.
- ARDMS or CCI.
Responsibilities
- Carotid ultrasounds
- Venous ultrasounds
- Arterial ultrasounds
- Renal ultrasounds
- Take part in the training of students and staff as assigned.
- Create a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
- Assesses patients for procedures ordered prior to, during, and after treatment according to Imaging Services/Departmental Guidelines.
- Operates highly specialized equipment, including radiographic, CR (Computed Radiography), DR (Digital Radiography), and PACS (Picture Archive Communication System).
- Trains students and staff as assigned.
- Creates a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
- Assesses data reflective of the patient status. Interprets information needed to identify each patients requirement and/or specific needs, and provides care per applicable policy and procedures.
- Interacts with patients, families, visitors and all members of the healthcare team to develop, coordinate and manage the plan of care.
