About The Position

We are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide coverage to all areas of the hospital. The successful candidate will be motivated, self-directed and a key member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team with defined roles focused on quality patient care and patient flow. The successful candidate will be responsible to provide excellent care to a diverse acute medical patient population in a fast-paced setting. New regular part-time and full-time employees hired into this department will be eligible for the Bonus Incentive payment of up to $4000.00 payable at established internals over the course of the first 2 years of continuous active employment.

Requirements

• RRT registered with the College of Respiratory Therapists in the General Class
• Practice according to the standards and guidelines set out by the College
• BCLS and NRP required
• Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated problem assessment skills
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork
• Demonstrated individual leadership skills
• Demonstrated commitment to, and understanding of the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

• Regular and reliable attendance is an expected requirement of this position.
• Must be able to perform all necessary bona fide duties for the position, as outlined in the position guide.
• Must review and be capable of performing duties as outlined in the Job Demands Analysis for the position as a condition of offer.
• Proven ability to attend work regularly as per the Attendance Support Policy.

Nice To Haves

• ACLS preferred
• Experience with asthma and COPD patient education preferred
• Knowledge of adult education principles is an asset
• Experience working with paediatrics and neonates preferred

Responsibilities

• Member of the CCOT team, responsible for responding to various codes within the organization.
• Responsible for the setup, maintenance, and monitoring of respiratory equipment.
• Providing Respiratory Therapy coverage in the birthing unit, critical care units, emergency department, wards, and the pulmonary function lab.
