About The Position

Registered Respiratory Therapist - Part Time; Nights (NICU). This role involves reviewing medical records, obtaining patient history, and performing age-appropriate assessments. The therapist will apply patient care interventions according to protocol and priority, using therapeutic treatment techniques within their scope of practice. A key aspect of this role is the willingness to train and be a member of the neonatal EXTERNAL transport team. Requirements

  • Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Care Program required
  • Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
  • NICU experience strongly preferred
  • RCP - Respiratory Care Practitioner upon hire required
  • RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist upon hire required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support ICU and Emergency Department only 90 Days required
  • NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program NRP required if working in the NICU 90 Days required
  • Good verbal communications, good interpersonal skills, and computer experience

Responsibilities

  • Review available medical records and obtain pertinent medical history from the patient or family.
  • Evaluates each patient using age and diagnosis-appropriate assessment tests and measurements.
  • Must be willing to train and be a member of our neonatal EXTERNAL transport team.
  • Applies appropriate patient care interventions according to protocol guidelines and priority of care.
  • Demonstrates competence in the performance of age-appropriate patient assessment and individualizes care based on age-specific needs.
  • Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient's age and desire for treatment.
  • Performs treatment procedures that are within the scope of the professional license.
