About The Position

Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join their Respiratory Care department. This is a full-time night shift position. The role involves leading patient assessments, developing and implementing respiratory care plans, delivering advanced respiratory therapies, monitoring complex equipment, and evaluating clinical outcomes. The therapist will also educate patients and families and provide intervention during emergencies.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Florida Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

Lead patient assessments to develop and implement customized respiratory care plans, ensuring the type and frequency of treatment align perfectly with the patient’s diagnosis.
Deliver advanced respiratory therapies and monitor complex equipment to ensure physiological stability, while documenting and communicating real-time changes in patient condition.
Evaluate clinical outcomes by continuously reviewing the effectiveness of respiratory practices and medications, pivoting treatment strategies to ensure the highest quality of recovery.
Drive patient and family empowerment through dedicated education on health conditions and community resources, while providing expert intervention during emergency resuscitation and codes.
