Requirements
- Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- One year of acute care experience required.
Responsibilities
- Performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the ordering provider, under the direction and authorization of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director or manager.
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting patient care, considering age and population-specific needs.
- Potentially serving as Lead RCP, with responsibility for the section or department during their shift.
