About The Position

Humber River Health is seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist passionate about providing the most positive outcome for patients, who is tech-savvy and committed to lifelong learning. As part of an inter-disciplinary professional team, you will deliver exceptional assessment and treatment for patients with chronic and acute cardio pulmonary illness. Humber River Health, North America's first fully digital hospital, uses a custom combination of technology and clinical expertise to improve patient care, eliminate inefficiencies, and reduce errors. Requirements

  • Graduate of a recognized School of Respiratory Therapy required.
  • NRP, & BCLS certification required.
  • A member in good standing with the C.R.T.O is required.
  • Evidence of sound organizational, problem solving and prioritization skills with ability to work well in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as an effective team member.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to Humber’s comprehensive safety programs and willing to participate in regular in-service education in this area.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to excellent customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, management, volunteers and other members of the community and public.
  • Commitment to lifelong learning.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.

Nice To Haves

  • A member of R.T.S.O and C.S.R.T. preferred.
  • 2 years acute care hospital experience preferred.
  • An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset. Humber River Health values lived and learned experiences in addressing systemic barriers and advancing inclusive practices.

Responsibilities

  • Providing therapeutic, diagnostic and respiratory services.
  • Ensuring the efficient delivery of respiratory services.
  • Continually evaluating the effectiveness of therapies given to patients.
  • Knowledge and experience with ventilation (invasive and noninvasive), airway management and spirometry, arterial blood gas collection, art line insertion, endotracheal intubation/ extubation, home oxygen assessment, required.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned by management or Clinical Coordinator.
