About The Position

A licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner by the State of California who will provide Respiratory Services according to the scope of the Respiratory Care Practice Act and the hospital policy and procedures manuals. The RCP will provide respiratory therapy services to inpatients and outpatients as ordered by the physician caring for patient of ages: Birth - 12 Child, 13-18 Adolescents, 18-64 Adults and 65 plus Older Adults. Under the supervision of the Technician Coordinator and the Director of the Cardiopulmonary Department, the RCP provides respiratory care as directed by physician order. Tasks include, but are limited to basic respiratory care, emergency respiratory care, ventilator management, pulmonary testing, and some cardiology procedures.

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Current RCP license with the State of California
Current BLS Card
Current PALS card
Current ACLS CARD
Current NRP
Must be able to provide proof of work authorization

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
Registered Respiratory Therapist or Registry Eligible with the National Board for Respiratory Care
Minimum of 1year acute care experience
