About The Position

The Registered Respiratory Therapist role within the Ahuja Medical Center offers a unique chance to become part of a dynamic, collaborative interdisciplinary team. This position adds value to patient care and significantly assists individuals with breathing issues. We currently offer an opportunity for a PRN, Registered Respiratory Therapist to support patients in our acute care hospital in Beachwood. The therapist is learning and incorporating the mission statement and standards of behavior of his/her hospital or care facility. This therapist performs basic competencies within orientation and provides satisfactory respiratory therapy with minimum supervision.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Respiratory (Required)
• Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory (Required)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) (Required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
• Current RCP Ohio License granted by the Ohio Medical Board (Required)
• AARC membership within 6 months of hire date (Required)
• NRP Certified (Neonatal facilities) (Required within 6 Months)

Nice To Haves

• 1+ years Respiratory Therapy (Preferred)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Mechanical ventilation
• Medicated aerosol delivery
• Airway clearance therapy
• Patient monitoring
• Oxygen and humidity therapy
• Special procedures (CPR, specialty gases, bronchoscopy, transport, etc.)
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
