About The Position

Presbyterian is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. As an RRT, you will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders. Your expertise and dedication will help improve patient outcomes and enhance their quality of life.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy
  • Reg Resp Therapist (NBRC)
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner-NM
  • BLS
  • ACLS and/or PALS
  • Six months to one-year of critical care experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced certifications (RPFT, CPFT, Perinatal Pediatric, ACCS, RPSGT, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Assists physicians with Bronchoscopy Procedures under departmental policy including monitoring and assessment of the level of consciousness, cardiovascular and pulmonary systems; as well as delivery of IV conscious sedation agents to include drugs in the classifications of opioids, benzodiazepines and sedative-hypnotics and their reversal agents.
  • Initiates ventilator protocols; implements and coordinates ventilator management.
  • Performs advanced airway care to include tracheotomy changes, extubating, and intubation.
  • Initiates and monitors high-frequency ventilators.
  • In NICU Therapists will also perform: Surfactant delivery, and intubation and attend high-risk deliveries.
  • Optional procedures: transport team, intubation, and backup charge therapist.
  • Initiates and monitors Nitric Oxide delivery.
  • Performs department-specific functions as detailed within the summary of the department-specific duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.
