Requirements

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field
Valid state licensure or certification as a Respiratory Therapist (e.g., RRT credential)
Proven experience in a clinical respiratory therapy setting
Strong knowledge of respiratory care procedures, equipment, and protocols
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively under pressure and in emergency situations
Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care
Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to safety standards

Responsibilities

Assess, monitor, and treat patients with respiratory conditions such as asthma, COPD, and other cardiopulmonary diseases
Administer respiratory therapy treatments, including oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, and aerosol medications
Perform diagnostic tests such as pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
Educate patients and their families on respiratory health, medication use, and lifestyle modifications
Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, treatment plans, and progress notes
Ensure the proper operation and maintenance of respiratory therapy equipment
