About The Position

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) will be responsible for reviewing medical records, obtaining patient history, and performing age-appropriate assessments. The role involves applying patient care interventions according to protocol, demonstrating competence in patient assessment, and individualizing care based on age-specific needs. The RRT will use therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to the patient's age and desire for treatment, and perform treatment procedures within the scope of their professional license. This is a full-time night shift position at Texas Health Hospital Dallas, a Magnet-designated, full-service hospital known for its specialized care in cancer, cardiology, neurosciences, women's services, and emergency medicine. The hospital is a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, a Comprehensive Stroke and Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence, and holds numerous certifications including Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level I Trauma Center.

Requirements

  • Graduate of AMA approved Respiratory Care Program required
  • Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
  • RCP - Respiratory Care Practitioner upon hire required
  • RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist upon hire required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support ICU and Emergency Department only 90 Days required
  • NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program NRP required if working in the NICU 90 Days required
  • Good verbal communications, good interpersonal skills, and computer experience

Nice To Haves

  • 1 Year Med/Surg or critical care experience preferred
