About The Position

The Respiratory Care Practitioner II (RCP II) / Respiratory Therapist (RRT) delivers respiratory therapy treatments and pulmonary diagnostic services in an acute care setting, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of care across all patient populations. This role involves working in a high-acuity, critical care environment and handling advanced respiratory cases. The position may occasionally involve being assigned as Lead RCP, with responsibility for the section or department during their shift.

Requirements

  • Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.
  • Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification upon hire and maintain current.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate is upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
  • Two (2) years of acute care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the ordering provider.
  • Assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of patient care, considering age and population-specific needs.
  • May on occasion be assigned/identified as Lead RCP, having responsibility for the section or department during their shift.
