About The Position

Indiana University Health is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to evaluate and treat patients with cardiopulmonary disorders across a range of treatment modalities and patient demographics. Respiratory Therapists collaborate with nurses, Advanced Respiratory Therapists, Clinical Specialists, and other hospital partners to support patients and provide a positive care experience. The role includes participating in bedside rounds and advocating for patients. Respiratory Therapists develop personalized therapies in collaboration with patients and team members and have opportunities for professional growth and advancement within IU Health.

This position is based at West Hospital and works a day shift from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with a requirement to work every fourth weekend. A $30,000 sign-on bonus is available to eligible external candidates.

Requirements

• Current Indiana license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Graduation from a CoARC-accredited and regionally accredited respiratory care program.
• Pass the N.B.R.C. registry exam within six months of hire; this requirement is void if the hire date is one year past the graduation date.
• Healthcare Provider Certification.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential patient information.
• Basic computer skills and ability to work with an EMR.
• Other advanced life support certifications may be required according to unit or department specialty and patient care policies.

Nice To Haves

• ACLS certification.
• PALS certification.
• NRP certification.

Responsibilities
