About The Position

Piedmont Eastside is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join their team in Snellville, GA. This role involves performing patient assessments and testing, providing patient education, and monitoring compliance with prescribed therapies for pulmonary diseases and sleep disorders. The department utilizes Respiratory Driven Protocols for patient management in ICU and acute care areas. RTs have the opportunity to intubate and insert A-lines after competency completion. The role covers various units including adult cardiac care, medical/surgical ICU, progressive care, acute care floors, and a Women's Center with a Level 3 NICU, where RTs attend deliveries and care for NICU patients. The department also manages a pulmonary function lab (PFT) for outpatient and inpatient testing, performs inpatient EKGs, and manages various ventilation and respiratory support equipment. There are opportunities for cross-training in EEGs, PFTs, and NICU, as well as participation in conferences and development courses. The team consists of approximately 50 members, including leadership. Typical staffing is 7 people during the day and 6-7 at night, varying with census and acuity. The South Campus, with an ED, behavioral health unit, and acute care rehab, is also covered by one RT per shift. Shadowing opportunities are available.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy Sciences
  • Credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Licensed by the State of Georgia under the Composite State Board of Medical Examiners
  • Current certifications in BCLS
  • Current certifications in ACLS
  • Actively practicing and maintaining all required competencies
