About The Position

Join Cleveland Clinic’s Brunswick Family Health Center, which provides primary care, emergency services and a wide array of specialties. Respiratory therapists work closely with nurses, physicians and specialists to assess and treat patients with respiratory conditions, perform advanced cardiopulmonary evaluations, deliver lifesaving therapies, manage ventilators and airways, and respond to critical situations. The role offers autonomy in patient care and clinical decision making, opportunities to learn from leading experts in respiratory care, and a part in patient education and care coordination.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care.
Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) Board licensure.
Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
As applicable by site: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), or Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in critical care.
Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

Provide assessment, treatment, care and evaluation to patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
Direct respiratory caregivers in the delivery of care.
Assess patients to determine appropriate treatment type and frequency, and develop, implement and monitor patient care plans.
Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
Perform advanced respiratory care modalities and evaluate respiratory practice.
Administer medications and treatments.
Perform blood gas puncture and analysis.
Educate patients and families about illness and provide information about community support groups and other programs.
