About The Position

This role involves monitoring and communicating patient condition changes to the care team, performing advanced respiratory care modalities, evaluating respiratory practice and treatment effectiveness based on patient outcomes, and responding promptly to emergency resuscitation team code calls.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained within 4 Months (120 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Respiratory Therapist specializing in Critical Care credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) preferred.
Respiratory Therapist specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) preferred.
Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) preferred.
Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) from National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor, accurately record, and effectively communicate changes in the patient's condition to the care team.
Perform advanced respiratory care modalities as required.
Evaluate respiratory practice, medication administration, and treatment effectiveness based on patient outcomes.
Respond promptly to emergency resuscitation team code calls.
