Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Cross accepted.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Respiratory Care Practitioners Certification Program obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialized direct patient care as a Pediatric Registered Respiratory Therapist, evaluating and treating children with acute and chronic respiratory insufficiencies.
  • Assess pediatric patients and develop individualized care plans, implementing advanced respiratory therapy modalities to improve clinical outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate pediatric respiratory care, support quality improvement initiatives, and enhance patient safety.
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, home care strategies, and community resources to strengthen long-term health outcomes.
  • Respond to emergency code situations, providing critical respiratory support and life-saving interventions for pediatric patients.
