About The Position

The Registered Respiratory Therapist will provide essential life-support and therapeutic services, primarily to critical care patients in Intensive Care Units at Henry Ford Health Novi Hospital. The role includes invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures, medical gases therapy, and maintaining clinical expertise across business units. The therapist collaborates with physicians, patients, and colleagues to support high-quality care and patient outcomes. The position is full-time, working days for 36 hours per week, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program.
• Associate of Science degree at minimum.
• Be a recent graduate or have two years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience in a tertiary hospital.
• Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• Current Respiratory Therapist license in the State of Michigan, or obtain it within 90 days of graduation for new graduates.

• Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy.

Responsibilities

• Deliver life-support, resuscitation, and medical gases therapy to critical care patients.
• Perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for Intensive Care and General Practice Units.
• Maintain clinical expertise and provide support across various business units as assigned.
• Communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, and physicians regarding patient care needs.
• Accurately document all aspects of patient care.
• Supervise respiratory therapy students and externs.
• Complete necessary and accurate patient billing information.
