Registered Respiratory Therapist
About The Position
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will join an established team providing specialized cardiopulmonary care to patients experiencing breathing issues. Treatments include breathing techniques, nebulizer treatments, ventilator management, oxygen therapies, and external ventilation support. You will use assessment skills and critical thinking to manage diverse patient needs, develop and execute care plans, and provide calm, focused intervention in routine and emergent situations. Success in this role requires urgency, composure under pressure, the ability to anticipate outcomes, dedication to patient well-being, and strong problem-solving abilities.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy education program upon hire.
- Respiratory Care Practitioner: Arkansas, upon hire.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist credential within 30 days.
- Basic Life Support - CPR within 30 days.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 30 days.
Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of therapy based on patients’ age, cognitive and physical abilities, and developmental needs.
- Recommend changes in specific modes of therapy.
- Educate patients and arrange home respiratory care services and therapy follow-up assessments using language and materials appropriate to patients’ age, cognitive and physical abilities, and developmental needs.
- Support personal and professional growth by participating in department meetings, in-service programs, and continuing education programs.
- Maintain department policies, procedures, and objectives concerning quality assurance, safety, environmental conditions, and infection control.
