This role involves working in a high-acuity, critical care environment and handling advanced respiratory cases. The position offers career growth within a large healthcare system. The Respiratory Care Practitioner II (RCP II) is responsible for performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the ordering provider, with an emphasis on assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of care, considering age and population-specific needs. The RCP II may also be assigned as Lead RCP, taking responsibility for the section or department during their shift.

Requirements

  • Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.
  • Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification upon hire and maintain current.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate is upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
  • Two (2) years of acute care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the ordering provider.
  • Assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting patient care.
  • Considering age and population-specific needs and requirements of the patient.
  • Potentially serving as Lead RCP, responsible for the section or department during their shift.
