About The Position

Under the direction of practitioners and the supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Services Clinical Supervisor, provides therapeutic and diagnostic cardiopulmonary services in accordance with practitioner prescriptions and policies set forth by the 25 bed Critical Access hospital and the Cardiopulmonary Department. The Respiratory Care Practitioner is a valuable member of the healthcare team who demonstrates knowledge, skill, and professionalism when interacting with peers and patients. The RT must be able to provide age-appropriate care to a diversified patient population. This individual must demonstrate knowledge of hospital policies and procedures as well as the AARC standards of practice. There is no call-schedule as this facility has 24 hour respiratory coverage.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an approved/accredited Program of Respiratory Care
  • Current New Hampshire License/Registration
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices and techniques for respiratory care
  • Current ACLS certification or eligible for certification by National Board of Respiratory Care
  • Must be CPR Certified
  • Demonstrate judgment capabilities regarding diagnostic and therapeutic modalities
  • Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of applicable physiology and pathology
  • Ability to work independently
  • A willingness to work in a team-oriented environment is necessary
  • Effective communication skills are required
  • Familiarity with computer applications required
  • Must have technical aptitude and a willingness to learn software applications

Nice To Haves

  • PALS and NRP certification or must be able to obtain within six (6) months of hire
  • Neonatal resuscitation certification preferred
  • Five years of clinical experience preferred
  • new graduates will be considered
