About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for an exciting Travel or Local job in Bricktown, NJ. This role involves providing respiratory therapy under medical direction for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders, including ventilator management, airway management, and diagnostic evaluations. The therapist will administer treatments, respond to patient condition changes, and educate patients. They will also be responsible for operating and maintaining respiratory care equipment, adhering to safety protocols, and maintaining accurate documentation. The position requires collaboration with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program required
  • Current and valid New Jersey Respiratory Care License required
  • NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS – AHA) required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
  • Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required
  • Strong proficiency in mechanical ventilation management, airway management, intubation support, and arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation
  • Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and patient education abilities
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in high-acuity environments
  • High adaptability and strong teamwork orientation

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide respiratory therapy under medical direction for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders
  • Perform ventilator setup, management, and ongoing monitoring of ventilated patients
  • Assist with intubation procedures and airway management as needed
  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations including arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and respiratory assessments
  • Administer respiratory treatments and therapies per physician orders and department protocols
  • Respond to changes in patient condition and adjust respiratory interventions accordingly
  • Collect and evaluate patient data to determine respiratory care needs
  • Provide patient-specific education regarding respiratory conditions, treatments, and equipment use
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
  • Set up, operate, and maintain respiratory care equipment and ventilators
  • Ensure proper functioning and safety of respiratory therapy devices
  • Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and hospital policies at all times
  • Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, assessments, and patient progress
  • Work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Demonstrate adaptability in a fast-paced and high-acuity environment
